Is it Black History Month or White Celeb Suicide Month?

Yesterday I logged on to my computer -minding my own business- when my homepage popped up...www.msn.com. I love MSN and their highlighted stories, so I glanced over the headlines as usual. Then I absolutely lost it when I read that Marie Osmond's son decided to take his life by jumping off of his apartment building. I was like WTF - AGAIN? I was flabbergasted!!! This came just several days after I was following the search for Boner. I grew up watching Growing Pains and when I heard Boner was missing I was like "Nooooooo!!". Then they announced that he was found dead in a park in Vancouver - suicide.

So let's do the timeline:

Feb 11 - Alexander McQueen, fashion designer to the stars, kicked off celeb suicide month by hanging himself.

Feb 25 - Andrew Koenig aka Boner went missing on Feb 14 and found 11 days later dead - another hanging.

Feb 27 - Michael Blosil, Marie Osmond's son, leaped off a building to his death. I guess hanging is too cliche at this point.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not insensitive. Well, I'm not TOTALLY insensitive and I'm not naive enough to think just because you have some level of fame or income that you couldn't be plagued with problems or be depressed. I know...we're all human. But what pisses me TF off is that there are people all over the globe fighting for survival...begging God for another day. I'm talking about people who don't have a pot to piss in and wouldn't know where their next meal was coming from if God spared them for one more day. YET - they want to be here.

Kirk Cameron, an uber Christian fanatic, responded to Boner's death with this statement - "“At a time like this, we are all reminded of the briefness of life and the importance of being ready for our eternal destination". Ummm...homey...Boner took it upon himself to shorten his life. His life was brief because of a choice he made to end it! Kirk should've released a better message. Quote a Bible verse if you can't freestyle it. Sheesh!

Anyway, other than those who have been successful at taking their life, many have tried and failed. Here's an article from 2008 running down the many failed celeb suicide attempts.

Oy vey.....when will the madness end?

Here's some suicide help info - in case Jennifer Anniston, Jude Law or somebody is reading this blog. Regular folks contemplating suicide should take a gander too.
